Our Song
Our song we chose does not match to a specific convention within the genre. The band 'In Archives' who's song it is, have pushed 'the boat out' and still kept the repeated chorus idea you see in pop songs, but flowed in with not many/no repeated verses.
Our song structure:

Although the song structure may be slightly different to other metal core bands, the music still fits within the genre. As they are inspired by such bands as, 'Architects', 'The Ghost Inside' and 'Periphery', they have kept elements that still makes them 'Metalcore'. Using unconventional chord changes, but keeping within conventional scales means they have pushed boundaries every so slightly to create a slight 'edit' on whats been done before. Playing in the tuning 'Drop B' means the sound of the guitars is much lower and 'heavy', and keeping in time with a metronome at 230 bmp, are other key elements within the genre. They also have two guitars, one bass and one drummer, which most metal core bands have. This is so it allows them to use harmonies, add punch to the riffs and allow them to be more experimental with the music.
