Digipak's

What is a Digipak?
A 'Digipak' is a different style of packaging for a CD/DVD/Etc. This is a registered trademark of AGI World Ltd. Digipaks consist of a gatefold paperboard, with a gloss finish. Inside, there is ethier a plastic tray to hold the CD/DVD or a sleeve to put the CD/DVD in. Digipaks were one ofthe first alternatives to the 'Jewel' cases. Digipak's have no offical name, and the name has stuck due to the popularity of them.

Cons Of Digipak
  • Prone to wear and tear
  • More expensive
  • Trays can break and shatter as there is nothing covering them
  • CD’s can fall out easily if stored in sleeve
  • Look old and ragged quicker than jewel cases
